Ingredients

  • 1 Chocolate cake mix Prepare according to directions on the box
  • 2 boxes Instant Oreo pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 8 oz. container of whipped topping I use Cool Whip
  • 10 -12 Oreos crushed (You can also substitute store brand)
  • Chocolate Syrup for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan with a light coating of cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Make your cake according to the directions on the box and bake for 25 minutes. Test to see if it's done by inserting a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, it's ready.
  • Once the cake is done, let it cool for 15-20 minutes and then take a wooden spoon and poke holes in the cake.
  • Make the Oreo pudding with 2 boxes of pudding mix and 3 cups of cold milk.
  • Blend the milk with the pudding mix but don't over blend. Normally you would want the pudding to be thick, but for this recipe, you want it to be a little thinner. If the pudding is too thick, it will make it harder to seep down into the holes.
  • Pour the pudding over the top of the cake and spread it evenly.
  • Top the pudding with the whole tub of whipped topping.
  • Crush up the Oreos and sprinkle evenly over the whipped topping.
  • You can squeeze chocolate syrup the top of the cake for an additional garnish.
