Printable recipe card is down below.
Ingredients:
Here are the ingredients you’ll need for this delicious bread:
- 1/3 cup butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 1/2 cups flour
You will also need:
- 8.5″x4.5″ loaf pan
- Mixing bowl
- Potatoe masher
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan. Then, combine the sugar and the melted butter together in a bowl.
Mash The Bananas
Peel the ripe bananas and add them to the bowl with the melted butter & sugar and mash them until smooth. You can use a fork or a potato masher for this.
Next, add the egg and the vanilla extract (and the almond extract if you choose) and stir. You will then add the baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg & flour, stirring until well combined.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake for at least 45 minutes. Every oven is different so you’ll want to check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the middle. If it comes out clean, it’s done. If it doesn’t, put it back in for another 5-10 minutes. It should be a beautiful golden brown color, like the pics below.
Cool and Enjoy
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once it’s cooled, slice and enjoy this moist, flavorful banana bread!
There you have it! A scrumptious, homemade banana bread that’s perfect for breakfast, dessert, or just a tasty snack. The aroma of freshly baked banana bread filling your home is as comforting as the taste. So, put those overripe bananas to good use and whip up a loaf of this classic treat. Your taste buds will thank you! Bon appétit!
